Modern Guitar Method, Inc. was started by professional guitarist and educator Tom Castonzo to better meet the needs of his own students. By listening to his students and observing some of the consistent teaching and learning challenges that are inherent in guitar study, Tom began writing his own materials to help his students effectively address and master these critical areas. Tom's solutions have been created for several media types including books, online articles, online newsletters, blogs, CD's, MP3's, and software.
Modern Guitar Method, Inc. also believes that learning the guitar thoroughly is complex and at times, intense and thus requires learning from a guitarist who can teach, not by do-it-yourself guitar books; many of our products are designed for guitar teachers to use with their students or for the guitarist who is accomplished enough, to teach him or herself
